FAQs

What is International Women’s Day 2026?

International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It has been observed for over a century, with the first gathering in 1911. Today, it serves as a dual-purpose occasion: a celebration of how far we have come and a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

What is the theme for IWD 2026?

The global theme for 2026 is "Give To Gain". This campaign focuses on the power of reciprocity—the idea that when we intentionally give our time, mentorship, and support to women, we multiply the impact for everyone. In tandem, the United Nations' theme is "Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls", which focuses on dismantling systemic barriers and ensuring equal access to justice and safety. Why is IWD still important in the UK?

While significant progress has been made, women in the UK still face structural challenges. These include the gender pay gap, disproportionate responsibility for unpaid labour (caregiving), and barriers to senior leadership. IWD provides a focused moment for organisations like Temple to reflect on their policies and ensure they are creating an environment where all women can thrive.

Where is the location and how do I park?
